The Guardians of San Diego was founded in 1945 for the sole purpose of raising funds for Seacrest Village Retirement Communities. More than fifty years later, this membership-based organization is still helping to make life more enjoyable for our Jewish seniors at two campuses: Seacrest Village at Encinitas, and Seacrest Village at Rancho Bernardo.

Good Works

Directly benefiting the residents, projects have included:

• Assisting in the development and construction of Seacrest Village at Encinitas.
• Funding the construction of a synagogue and activities room for the Joseph and Dorothy Goldberg Healthcare Center.
• Purchasing modern equipment and specialty items to enhance the health and quality of life of residents.
• Installation of a Putting Green.
• Purchase of fitness equipment.
• Underwriting the costs of entertainment programs for residents.

Tributes and Donations

A tribute is a great way to honor, congratulate or comfort a friend on any number of occasions. A beautiful card of remembrance is sent to the honoree, and the tribute is listed in Happenings magazine. Any size donation is appreciated, and with a minimum gift of $5,a standard card is sent to the person honored.

Seacrest Village Retirement Communities and the Guardians are dedicated to making the retirement years of our elderly Jewish residents meaningful and satisfying, and as the senior population continues to grow, we need your support more than ever. Guardians membership categories begin at $50 per person, per year for a General Membership and $100 per person, per year for a Supporting Membership.
