Guardians Of San Diego
Guardians of San Diego is a separate 501(c)(3) founded in 1945 for the sole purpose of raising funds for Seacrest Village Retirement Communities. More than 60 years later, Guardians of San Diego continues to make life better for the frail and elderly who reside at our Encinitas and Rancho Bernardo campuses. Guardians of San Diego is dedicated to making the future more meaningful and satisfying for those in need.
Guardians of San Diego hosts the annual Golf & Tennis Tournament where over one hundred golfers & tennis players enjoy the immaculate an exclusive San Diego golf course. Attendees have the opportunity to mingle with friends, old and new, and at the conclusion of golf & tennis play, both spouses and friends join the tournament players for an evening reception complete with hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, dinner and silent & live auctions!
Guardians fundraising activities help to defray the costs of caring for our seniors. Accomplishments at the Encinitas campus include:
- Committing more than $1,000,000 to its development and expansion.
- Creating a putting green for resident activities.
- Funding construction of a $300,000 Activity Center for the residents of the Joseph & Dorothy Goldberg Healthcare Center. The Activity Center is designed to accommodate the special needs of residents and visitors by providing a warm and comfortable environment for religious, social and recreational activities.
- Purchasing modern equipment and specialty items to enhance the quality of health and life.
- Underwriting the cost of special events and outings.
